5 Facts

Task Description: Last term we had a Papa New Guinea language week. We had to learn about the culture. One of our tasks was to find 5 facts about Papa New Guinea. I did my own research to find these facts. I tried my best to make sure they were at a year 7 level. I also had some fun decorating my Google drawing and finding the facts. Immersion Assembly

This morning we started term 2 of school with a immersion assembly. We got to finally find out out the theme for this term after such a long holiday. Once I got to my seat, I looked ahead and saw the projecter with the words “Beyond the Sky.” I had a feeling that these words described that we would learn about all the plants we have in the solar system.

Once the first video started playing Mr Burt was wearing a space costume acting like a astronaut with his grandaughter. I had a feeling I was correct. I didn’t want to learn about plants beacause it seemed boring to me. Team 1’s short video was all about how in different parts of the world the time zones are  different. Ms Lal and Ms Hockly were in boiling hot wheather while Ms Shirley was in freezing cold weather.

Team 2 was showing how they used our magical school bus to fly around the solar system and take a look at the plants. They all had great questions about each planet. Team 3 made a rap that rymed with words sun moon and earth and they sung it on stage. Team 4 was in a space ship and they floated around all the plantes and described all of the planets descriptivly. Team 5 made a song about all the plants using the song “Love.” It was about the loveeee they have for the sun.

My favourtie one was either team 5 or team 4 because there songs they made was really well writen.

Eassy Writing

Task Description: For this weeks writing task we had to write an eassy about one topic. I chose the topic “What makes a good friend?” This is just a little practise for when I really need to start writing eassys. I tried my very best to get this all done and make it sound sence. Overall not my fav writing task but it mid. Please leave a positive comment on my blog and I might reply! TYSM!!:)

Simple, Compound and Complex Sentences

Task Description: For this weeks writing task we are learning what are simple, compound and complex sentences and how to make one. We had to identify what type of sentence it was and had to write one our own. Our last slide is where we had to use 3 sentences and 1 represents simple, compound and complex from our story we are reading this week. My Summer Holiday

In the holidays, my family and friends went on a camping adventure in another city to enjoy the summer. 

 

First my friends took my siblings and I to play on the jumping pillow. When I saw my friends jumping on it I was really terrified because I thought I was gonna slip off. The jumping pillow was very dirty and wet so I had more of a chance to slip off. Later on I was confident enough to jump really high luckily I landed in a safe place.

 

Next when I went to the beach it was a very long walk. The floor was really hot and what was even worse was I had no shoes or else they would get really wet and sandy. When I arrived at the beach I saw huge waves. When I went to the waves it went right past me and I felt like I was moving backwards but I was just standing still. Later on we had to leave.

Afterwards my friends and family all went to the playground. Once we arrived I firstly went on the slide. After I went to the slide I went to the swing to swing for a little while and then I noticed a little toy. Once I went for a closer look I picked it up and saw it was a minion. It was very cute so I thought my friend would like it but when I gave it to her she just threw it away. After a little while at the park we left to go shower for the day.

 

Finally we went back to our camping area with my siblings and friends to play volleyball. Once we arrived at the volleyball net we split up into two teams. The teams were not very even but it was so fun to play. We played for a couple of rounds of 1 vs 1 and it was so fun and entertaining to do for the rest of the day. It started to get really dark so we left to go to bed.

 

My favourite part was the jumping pillow because it was bouncy and fun. I had the best summer holiday with my friends and family.

 

About Me

Hello my name is Yi Yi and I am a year 6 at Pt England school. This year my teacher is Miss Parrant and I am in room 7. I like to draw if I have any time to. I enjoy playing volleyball outside if it’s not too sunny. My favourite subject at school is art because I think I’m kinda good at it. My favourite sport is volleyball because I don’t really like other types of sports. On the weekends I play volleyball outside. I am 10 years old and I am turning 11 this year. Marshmellow Challenge Recount

This morning on the 17th of october we were going to do the marshmallow challenge. The challenge is to make the tallest tower out of marshmallows and spaghetti and it needs to be able to hold by itself. Ms parrant told us to go talk about what we’re going to do in our groups. In my group is Nadi and Aie sorn once we were done talking we went back down on the mat Ms Parrant said that “you will have 12 minutes to build a tower that can stand by itself” so when the time started we made  our tower my group decided to make a five leg scarecrow with a triangle on top. I felt like our group did the best because it was  tall and stable enough. Even Ms Parrant said we could win because it was stable and tall. After the challenge Ms Parrant said to clean up or mess and put everything in the bin then Ms Parrant said she doesn’t know who won but she said probably my group won. 

 

Instructions: Vanilla Ice Cream

Task Description: Today we have been learning about how to make vanilla ice cream. We needed lots of ingrdentes. the most gross part was that when we shaked the ice out hands taste like salt.

Instructions: Vanilla Ice Cream

WALT: write detailed instructions of how to make vanilla ice cream.
You are going to create step by step instructions on how to make vanilla ice cream. You will need to add as much detail as you can so that someone can use your recipe to make their very own ice cream. Use the class brainstorm from the jam board if you need extra help.

 

Ingredients Cream Salt Sugar Vanilla ice  
Equipment Table spoons Measuring cups small bag and big bag
Instructions
  1. Add 1/2  a cup of cream in a small bag then add a 1 teaspoon of sugar. Then add 1/2 a teaspoon of vanilla. Once you are done with that, seal the top of the bag and then get the big bag and fill it up with 4 cups of ice and add ½ a cup of salt. And then put the small bag with cream inside the big bag. Grab a towel, put the big bag on the towel, wrap it and shake until it feels like ice cream.
